Harvey Gets Results under Pressure 🏁
October was one of those months where everything felt important. Big events, high pressure, and moments where the outcome could genuinely have gone either way. From a regional final that nearly didn’t happen, to national-level electric racing, and finishing the month racing purely for enjoyment — October delivered plenty to remember.
BIKC Regional Finals – Brighton
A Race That Nearly Didn’t Happen
The BIKC Regional Finals brought together the top 20 drivers from the region, all fighting for a place at the National Finals. From over 1,000 Cadets nationwide, this stage is about narrowing it down to the top 30 drivers in the country — so the stakes couldn’t have been higher.
We arrived at TeamSport Brighton on the Friday night, expecting to get some practice sessions in ahead of racing on Saturday.
Then the weather stepped in.
After a huge amount of rain, the drains beneath the track flooded, forcing the centre to close completely. It was touch and go whether the event would even run. Credit to the staff, who worked through most of the night — because by Saturday morning, the track was ready. A little later than planned… but we were racing.
This year’s new regional format, with a short qualifying session before each heat, meant every lap counted. Harvey delivered when it mattered:
- Won 2 of the 3 heats
- Secured a front-row start for the semi-final
- Narrowly missed pole for the final on lap time.
The final itself was a proper team effort. The front three were all drivers from Farnborough, and the boys worked together to make sure they all came through safely with the front 3 securing National Finals spots.
Harvey and Jamie were incredibly close — separated by just one thousandth of a second on lap times. While a win was in scope, it wasn’t worth risking a place at the national finals for.
👉 Mission accomplished
Another regional podium, and more importantly, qualification secured for the third year in a row at the BIKC National Finals..

It was great racing at Brighton, with some local supporters coming in to watch, and brilliant to see familiar faces too — including 3x National Finalist Chris Ball from Cardiff, and Amanze, the driver who edged Harvey to the National title back in 2024.

F24 National Finals – Goodwood
Electric Racing on an Iconic Circuit
October also saw a very different kind of national final — the Greenpower F24 International Finals at Goodwood Circuit.

Harvey was racing with Status Racing, a dedicated student lead Greenpower F24 team based at Collingwood College. Teams like Status Racing compete across the season, earning results through multiple rounds to qualify for the prestigious finals — and both of the team’s cars (kit and scratch build) made it through.
The event isn’t just about crowning champions. It’s about STEM skills, sustainable electric racing, and youth development in engineering and motorsport — and it’s brilliant to be part of something that blends all of that together.
On top of strong performances on track, the team was also shortlisted in the innovation categories, highlighting the engineering effort and teamwork that goes into the cars as much as the driving itself.
A big achievement, and a great experience racing on one of the most iconic circuits in the country.
Late October – Camberley
Racing for the Love of It
October wrapped up back at Camberley, racing as the only Honda Inter on a grid full of Rotax Inters.
It turned into one of those days that’s all about enjoyment.
Harvey’s grandparents were visiting and came along to watch, which made it extra special. On track, despite the Honda lacking the acceleration of the Rotax engines, the kart had strong top speed, especially through the fast, flowing, technical sections.
That meant Harvey was consistently closing in where it counted — and drawing plenty of positive comments throughout the day. On a relatively low-grip track day, he even managed to match the track record he’d set the month before.
Great racing, great atmosphere, and a perfect way to finish the month.

October in Perspective
October was about delivering when it mattered:
- A regional final that almost didn’t run,
- Calm under pressure when every lap counted securing 2nd place and a 3rd consecutive National Finals Appearance!
- F24 – National-level electric racing at Goodwood
- Recognition for innovation and teamwork
- And racing simply for enjoyment at the end
Big moments, big memories, and another step forward in a season full of progress.
Next up: November — and BIKC National final, the years story isn’t finished yet.
