X-Kart Round 2 & 3 Whilton Mill

Monday 14th September 2026 was a pretty special day for Harvey.

Having qualified over the summer through round one of the X-Kart scholarship, Harvey ended the day as the winner of the 2026 X-Kart Scholarship at Whilton Mill.

A Day Off School… Sort Of

The day followed the format of a series of tests started with the driving assessment, followed by a fitness test and then a media interview assessment.

We joked that Harvey had the day off school, but by lunchtime he’d already done the equivalent of double PE and an English exam! After that came 1-to-1 interviews before the field was reduced to the Final 12 from more than 50 drivers.

First Time in a Junior Rotax

The next stage saw Harvey jump into a Junior Rotax for the first time. The top 12, split into 3 groups, were followed around by the senior X-Kart team members.

He’s been racing with Club100 and also driving a Rotax Inter this season, but had never driven a Junior Rotax before. He seemed to settle into it pretty quickly and showed some really good pace, and a couple of really well measured over takes too. That was enough to put him through to the Final 3 with Alicia Waterhouse and Vinnie Cunningham

Then came the announcement.

Harvey had won the X-Kart Scholarship. 🏆

We were obviously delighted — and probably needed a few minutes to take it all in! It’s a fantastic opportunity for Harvey to take the next step in his racing, and a reward for all the work he’s put in over the last few years.

We’re incredibly proud of him and very grateful to everyone who has supported him along the way.

A huge thank you to X-Kart for putting together such a great scholarship and giving young drivers the opportunity to show what they can do both on and off the track. A special thank you also to SIM Motorsport for the excellent advice and direction they’ve given Harvey over the summer, helping him prepare for this opportunity.

And now… I suppose the hard work starts again! 🏁
